TIPS
AND ADVICE WHEN USING ESSENTIAL OILS
STORAGE AND SAFETY
 | Store Essential Oils in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight. Essential
Oils are sold in dark glass containers as they can be affected by exposure to heat or
light. |
 | Never take Essential Oils by mouth. |
 | Keep away from children and animals. |
 | Keep away from eyes. |
 | Never use Pure Essential oils undiluted on the skin (unless otherwise stated). |
 | Pregnancy and some medical conditions (i.e. high/low blood pressure and epilepsy)
contraindicate the use of certain essential oils (refer to essential
oils page ). |
 | Essential Oil quantities are for adult use only. |
 | When using Essential Oils on children the amount is usually halved. For babies and
very young children one drop is sufficient. If you require a blend for
a child, please e-mail us at sales@aromapot.co.uk
and we will be happy to provide you with further advice/supply you with a
suitable blend. |
USING ESSENTIAL OILS
 | In the Bath: To aid sleep, unwind,
ease aching muscles and sooth tired minds, add two teaspoons from our Blended
Oils range to your bath water. Alternatively, add up to 6 drops of a Pure Essential
Oil to a warm bath. Run the bath and then add the oils. Agitate the water
and bathe for 10 to 15 minutes. If your skin is sensitive or if you are using the
oils for children, always dilute the Essential Oil in a base oil such as Grapeseed or Almond Oil.

 | Massage: When using Essential Oils in massage
always dilute in a carrier oil (base oil), to a concentration of 0.5% to
3%. 3% being typical for an adult. Alternatively you can use one of our Pre-blended oils. These can be used directly on the skin.

 | Inhalations: An excellent and effective way of treating
nasal or chest congestion. Add up to 3 drops of Pure Essential Oil to a bowl of hot
water. Place a towel over your head, close your eyes and inhale the vapours for a
few minutes. To avoid potential accidents we advise keeping
children and animals clear of the bowl of hot water.

 | Room Fragrancing: To create beautiful aromas in your
home which can help to uplift, relax and change your mood. For creating a lovely
aroma or refreshing a 'sick' room. To your burner add warm
water and up to 6 drops of Essential Oils of your choice. Light a night light
underneath and the heat will vaporise the aromas into your room. Try one of our 6
ready blended Pure Essential Oils. Alternatively you
can add a few drops to a plant spray and use as a natural air refresher. Always put a coaster under your burner and never leave unattended.
Keep away from children, animals and draughts.

skin or are prone to allergies, it is advisable to try a small amount of blended Essential
Oil on the skin and wait 24 hrs to test for any adverse reaction. We are not able to
